Aaron Sorkin in Talks with Both Marvel and DC to Develop a Superhero “Walk and Talk” Project

Could we be seeing “A Few Good Avengers” or “The Social Bat-Network” soon?

ComicBook.com recently learned that Academy Award winning writer/producer Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, Moneyball) will be meeting with big name comic book competitors Marvel and DC to develop a dialogue driven “walk and talk” style superhero project.

Sorkin told ComicBook.com while at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon,“I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel,” he said. “I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them, it’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m going to want to go back and start reading from the first issue on.”

After this decade’s saturation of the superhero genre across film and television mediums, recent adaptations of comic book properties like Deadpool, the Marvel/Netflix universe and Logan have grown to take on more genre forms beyond the action/adventure/fantasy variety they are mostly known for. Sorkin’s approach of the superhero mythos can bring Marvel or DC to another dramatic level yet to be explored for either of them.

Sorkin’s upcoming projects include his directorial debut, Molly’s Game, and a television series based on his A Few Good Men.
