Aaron Pierre Teases John Stewart’s DCU Return In ‘Man of Tomorrow’

Following the recent premiere of the first episode of Lanterns, Aaron Pierre gave an interview with ScreenRant, where the John Stewart actor teased the character’s return in the upcoming Man of Tomorrow. Pierre first spoke of playing the role in Lanterns, saying:

“I can’t say much, but what I can say is what a gift it was to have had six months consecutively of six-day weeks and a minimum of 12-hour days to live with John and excavate his character before going into Man of Tomorrow.”

Pierre then continues, saying of the role:

“I think my experience on Man of Tomorrow with the wonderful team over there would have been a lot different had I not done the HBO series first. [I] would have gone in there and been discovering in real time, in a very quick pace, who John was, but I already knew who John was going in. Of course, there’s endless amounts of excavation to do now and always beyond this point. But I went in there with a calmness and a steady hand that I’m very grateful for.”

Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart in Lanterns, which is currently airing episodes weekly, alongside Kyle Chandler, who plays Hal Jordan. Pierre was previously announced to reprise his role as John Stewart in Man of Tomorrow alongside David Corenswet’s Superman,  Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, and Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner. However, the extent of Pierre’s role in the film isn’t known. In addition, it was recently announced in July that Xolo Maridueña would be reprising his role as Blue Beetle.

Man of Tomorrow is slated for release on July 9, 2027.
