A24 has acquired the US rights for the Gaspar Noé film Climax following its Cannes Film Festival debut.
Climax stars Sofia Boutella (Atomic Blonde, The Mummy) as a dancer who goes on a sex-fueled adventure at an orgy in the forest. Noé’s films, which include Love (2015), are known for their erotic artistry, and Climax is no exception.
The producers of Climax include Edouard Weil, Vincent Maraval, Richard Grandpierre and Michel Merkt, and Vice Studios’ Danny Gabai and Eddy Moretti are executive producers.
This pick up falls right in line with A24’s penchant for pushing the indie envelope, distributing films for arthouse auteurs and filmmakers taking that extra step.
