A Super Bowl Appearance From ‘Deadpool’

Due in theaters this coming Friday, 20th Century Fox capitalized on Super Bowl Sunday to give its latest comic book feature – the vulgar and very R-rated Deadpool – a special appearance during the game.

Ryan Reynolds (Mississippi Grind) stars as Wade Wilson, a former Special Ops operative turned mercenary. After Wade is tortured in a series of experiments that leave him with new found abilities, he soon enough adopts the titular alter ego, a lewd and darkly humorous vigilante on a mission to hunt down those responsible for nearly destroying his life. The film is adapted from the Marvel character and has been increasingly more and more anticipated as the clever (and quite profane) marketing machine has gone underway.

Tim Miller directs the film from a script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Deadpool unspools in theaters this Friday. Check out the latest trailer below.
