John Krasinski has made the announcement for the production of A Quiet Place Part Ⅲ during a Paramount investor day presentation. The film is officially in the works at Paramount with a target release date of 2025. Filmmaker John Krasinski announced the news to investors Tuesday. Despite no director or writer being assigned to the project yet, Krasinski himself would be a natural choice.
Since launching in 2018, the A Quiet Place franchise has become a staple piece for Paramount, which also includes a spinoff movie from director Michael Sarnoski (Pig, Fright Night) coming out in 2023 based on another idea from Krasinski. The first Quiet Place was co-written by Krasinski and the team of Bryan Woods and Scott Beck. The movie’s success turned the filmmaker into an A-list director after earning rave reviews and making $340.9 million globally.
In May 2021, A Quiet Place Ⅱ, also written and directed by Krasinski, was released to exclusively hit theaters following the months-long COVID-19 shutdown. It grossed $297 million globally, a strong showing amid the pandemic.
The Quiet Place films take place in a post-apocalyptic world in which Earth has been taken over by monstrous aliens who are blind and depend on sound to track their prey. Krasinski starred opposite his wife, Emily Blunt, in the first film and had a cameo in the second. Their on-screen children are played by Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds.
Krasinski’s next directorial project If is expected to release in 2023 and stars Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell.
