‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ Footage Shown At CinemaCon; Paramount Confident Despite Sale Rumors

Paramount Studios unveiled more footage of A Quiet Place: Day One during a panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. While there, Paramount chief Brian Robbins announced his confidence in the studio’s slate for the next two years despite looming, rumored buyouts.

The footage was screened for movie theater owners to build hype for the movie and give a clearer idea of what they can expect from Paramount soon. The preview was under wraps due to A Quiet Place: Day One’s premiere date closing in.

After the screening, Robbins discussed the studio’s upcoming 2025 and 2026 releases, revealing new projects alongside old announcements. Robbins boasted, “We are a home for the most talented filmmakers and storytellers, and we have a bold and diverse slate of films coming your way.”

Many people were surprised at his boldness due to the many rumors and speculations revolving around a potential Viacom/Paramount sale and further rumors about MMA activities. Robbins even confronted these rumors, reassuring his audiences that the studio wouldn’t go anywhere. He even joked that top executive Chris Aronson “has thrown his hat into the ring as a bidder for Paramount Pictures. He’s started a Kickstarter campaign.”

Even though the future is uncertain for this studio, Robbins’ cavalier attitude indicates confidence in the future, especially with the incredibly likely success of A Quiet Place: Day One.

The film will act as a prequel to the first movie, A Quiet Place, as a woman (Lupita Nyong’o) struggles to survive in New York City as blind aliens attack Earth. Nyong’o, who also attended the sneak preview, proclaimed that the film’s story “is at a scale more compelling and more terrifying than ever.”

A Quiet Place: Day One will sneak into theaters on June 28th, 2024.
