TIFF has officially unveiled its 10-film Midnight Madness lineup for the 2026 festival. Curated by Peter Kuplowsy, the program features a blend of global genre cinema, Sci-fi, action, and dark comedy. Leading the lineup is a special presentation of Obsession, following its breakout premiere at last year’s festival and its recent global success. The special presentation will feature an on-stage discussion with the film’s writer-director, Curry Barker, and breakout star Indie Navarette, who will discuss the film’s journey from surprise festival darling to global success.
Other films within the lineup include Duncan Jones’s sci-fi action film Rogue Trooper, which will open the Midnight Mass lineup. The closing film will be The Face of Horror, which will be having its world premiere as the closing night film. A special “Eve-of-Festival screening will also be held for Na Hong-jin’s creature-feature sci-fi thriller Hope, and will be screened on the eve of the festival. The 51st Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 10-20, 2026, with Midnight Madness screenings hosted at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
Obsession is currently streaming on Peacock and is available to rent or buy on all digital platforms, including Fandango, Prime Video, and Apple TV, and is available to purchase on 4K UHD and Blu-ray.
