The 43rd Annie Awards were handed out on Saturday night honoring the years’ best achievement in animation. To very little surprise, Pixar’s critically acclaimed blockbuster Inside Out scored incredibly well. The film, directed and co-written by Pete Docter (Up), picked up prizes for Outstanding Animated Feature Film as well as nearly everything else in sight. Phyllis Smith (The Office) nabbed an Annie Award for her voice performance- she memorably voiced Sadness in the emotions-filled film. Inside Out is the presumptive frontrunner to win the Best Animated Feature category at the Academy Awards later this month.
