What We Know About “The Batman Part II”

I studied cinema and economics at USC/USF. I worked in several jobs and internships in entertainment. Also, I have done work as a Production Assistant and as an intern at a production company and a literary agency.

The DC Universe has many films. There was “Superman” and “Batman” in the 1970’s and 1980’s. I met Richard Donner, who made “Superman” with Christopher Reeves. Since then, Zack Snyder has made a bunch of DC movies. James Gunn is now leading the DCU. These new Batman films are being made by Matt Reeves.

Batman’s alter ego is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy philanthropist whose parents died when he was young. He turns into a vigilante named Batman that fights crime in Gotham city. He chose this name because he was afraid of bats. He has a mansion and a butler named Alfred. There is the batcave where he has the batmobile, a supercomputer, and many gadgets. I have read many of his graphic novels, my favorites are “Batman Year One” and “The Dark Knight Returns”. I toured Warner Brothers Studios, they make DC Universe films. I saw their collection of DC Comics.

Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27. He was made by Bob Kane. DC Comics stands for Detective Comics. I have read some issues from this series. Some other characters such as The Penguin and The Riddler also appeared in this comic book series.

There are different eras of Batman films. There is the Adam West one from the 1960’s. There are the Tim Burton/ Michael Keaton ones. Also, the 1990’s George Clooney and Val Kilmer ones. Additionally there’s the Dark Knight trilogy. After that was “Batman vs Superman”. More recently there was “The Batman” with Robert Pattinson. He will be starring in “The Batman Part II”.

My favorites are The Dark Knight Trilogy personally. I think that Nolan did a good job making a brooding atmosphere. Christian Bale gave a good performance as Bruce Wayne and Batman. The villains were well captured. I liked the Hanz Zimmer soundtrack as well.

The Batman

“When a sadistic serial killer begins murdering key political figures in Gotham, the Batman is forced to investigate the city’s hidden corruption and question his family’s involvement.”(IMDb)
Batman had a dark and gritty character in this movie. The Batmobile had a cool design. Batman had a flying squirrel suit in this movie.

Villains

I enjoyed this film. The Riddler, or Edward Nygma, was a villain again. He was played by Jim Carey in “Batman Forever”. In this film he was played by Paul Dano. The Penguin, or Oswald Cobblepot, was in this movie, he was also in “Batman Returns” played by Danny DeVito. Catwoman, or Selina Kyle, was in this film, she is also in”Batman Forever” and “The Dark Knight Rises”.

Edward Nygma, the Riddler, is a villain who asks riddles. There are Riddler trophies in some of his video games. The Penguin is a criminal who looks like a penguin. Catwoman is an anti-hero who dresses up as a cat.

If you liked this story of Batman vs The Riddler, I would recommend “Batman Forever”. In this film, “Batman must battle former district attorney Harvey Dent, who is now Two-Face and Edward Nygma, The Riddler with help from an amorous psychologist and a young circus acrobat who becomes his sidekick, Robin.” (IMDb) So in this movie Batman faces The Riddler also.

The Batman Part II

Will be released on February 18, 2028. Many actors and actresses from the first film will be returning. Some new additions will be Scarlett Johansson, who played Black Widow in the MCU, and Sebastian Stan, who played the Winter Soldier in the MCU.The sequel will focus more on Bruce Wayne than the first film. The movie will have to do with the Penguin. “The story is directly set up by the events of the Max spin-off television series The Penguin, taking place during a freezing winter in Gotham City.” (Google) On the IMDB page it says the plot is under wraps, this is just what we know so far. It is also rumored that Harvey Dent or Two Face will be in this movie. Two Face was also in “The Dark Knight” and “Batman Forever”.

If you are excited for this story of Batman vs The Penguin I would watch “Batman Returns”.
“While Batman deals with a deformed man calling himself the Penguin wreaking havoc across Gotham with the help of a cruel businessman, a female employee of the latter becomes the Catwoman with her own vendetta.” (IMDb) Batman is also expected to fight the Penguin in “The Batman Part II”.

Two Face, Harvey Dent, is just speculated for this film. He is a lawyer who has a split personality. He can decide outcomes based on the flip of a coin. The Joker had a scene in “The Batman”, played by Barry Keoghan. I was wondering if he would make another appearance in this second film, but it hasn’t been confirmed.

I’d recommend the Batman Arkham games. They are fun and have some of the voice actors from the animated series. There is a main trilogy and also “Arkham Origins” and “Gotham Knights.”

I look forward to seeing this new film. I am excited to see Batman face The Penguin. Also it will be neat to see more of a story about Bruce Wayne. Some other Batman graphic novels I would recommend are “Batman Hush” and “Batman: The Lost Halloween”. There was also a new “Superman” and “Supergirl” film, in the future there is going to be a movie called “Man of Tomorrow”, where he will fight Lex Luthor and Brainiac.
