Tiffany Haddish is set to produce and star in Mystery Girl for Netflix. The film is an adaptation based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, created by Paul Tobin and Alberto Alburquerque. Haddish will produce under her She Ready Productions label and the film will be directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol, known professionally as McG. He is known for 2000’s Charlie’s Angels and more recently The Babysitter. Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg will produce the film for Dark Horse Entertainment.
As shared on Deadline, Mystery Girl tells the story of Trine (Haddish) who lives off the grid in Los Angeles as a street psychic, and has no memory of who she is or where she came from. She is guided by an infinite voice in her head that somehow knows everyone’s business and darkest secrets. When a LAPD officer named Cooper seeks out Trine in hopes that she’ll help him with a case, the two are framed for murder and must work together to clear their names and “…solve the ultimate mystery: the one behind Mystery Girl herself.”
Tiffany Haddish is currently in production on the CBS’ Kids Say the Darndest Things and recently finished production on Apple TV’s The Afterparty. Haddish is repped by UTA, Brillstein Partners, and Ziffren Brittenham.
