After being a hit on Netflix’s Bridgerton, the beloved Simon, has landed his first blockbuster movie. Page closed a deal to star as the lead in Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons adaptation, the cast will also include Star Trek-lead Chris Pine, Fast and Furious Michelle Rodriguez and Jurassic World Justice Smith will also be joining the cast. The film will be directed by Johnathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. Jeremy Latcham will be producing through his deal with studio eOne, Hasbro’s entertainment arm.
Dungeons & Dragons is best known for its war games, campaigns and treasure hunts all set in a place where humans, elves, orcs and many other creatures exist. The roleplaying game uses a dice that determines the players storyline. Although it is not known if the film adaptation will be a fantasy set in the world of the game or a Jumanji style film.
Page will be hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend. Page who played the Duke of Hastings, was watched by more than 82 million accounts in its first month according to Netflix’s streamer, making it the company’s biggest series. Page credits include Mortal Engines and Amazon’s Sylvie’s Love.
