Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot is set to star in the upcoming film Heart of Stone, a spy-thriller franchise from Skydance Media. There aren’t any plot details yet, but according to Deadline, Heart of Stone is said to be putting “…a female spin on action franchises like Mission: Impossible and 007”. The Aeronauts‘ director Tom Harper is in talks to direct, and the script is from The Old Guard‘s comic writer Greg Rucka and Hidden Pictures‘ Allison Schroeder. Gadot will produce alongside Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger under her Pilot Wave banner, with Jaron Varsano, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.
This won’t be Gadot’s first spy role, as she previously portrayed an international spy alongside Jon Hamm in 2016’s Keeping Up with the Joneses. Gadot also recently starred on Netflix’s drama film Red Notice, alongside Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson, and will star in the Kenneth Branagh-directed Death on the Nile, alongside Armie Hammer and Kenneth Branagh.
Gadot’s long-awaited delayed superhero movie Wonder Woman 1984 will debut in the remaining open theaters and on streamer HBO Max on December 25. There is still no word on when Heart of Stone will begin filming, yet more information about the film is likely to be released soon.
