Lindsay Lohan has reportedly entered final negotiations to appear in Angel Oak Films‘ upcoming supernatural thriller Cursed, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Los Angeles and Brussels-based Angel Oak is expected to produce and represent the project at the European Film Market in Berlin. The film is penned by Ian Holt and directed by Steven R. Monroe, who also helmed the 2010 remake of the classic horror movie I Spit On Your Grave.
Last seen in MTV reality series Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club and well-known for her starring role in Mean Girls, Lohan will star alongside Mickey Rourke. Rourke, an Oscar nominee for 2008 film The Wrestler, has appeared primarily as a leading man in drama, action, and thriller films. Debra McCarthy was responsible for the casting of Cursed.
Cursed revolves around the renowned psychiatrist Dr. David Elder (Rourke), who teams up with police detective Mary Branigan (Lohan) to stop an escaped psychiatric patient from killing five people held hostage in a remote house.
Other details about casting and nation-wide release date has not yet been revealed, but the project is expected to start its principal photography this summer.
