With only about a month away from its release, Lionsgate unveiled a new trailer for the final film in the iconic Rambo franchise. Rambo: Last Blood will be marked Sylvester Stallone’s last performance as his most iconic character next to the Italian Stallion. This new trailer is really short but, given how close the film is to release, it’s clear that Lionsgate wants to save some of Rambo’s action for the fans when it is finally out.
The trailer mostly consists of a montage, mixing footage of Rambo from the earlier films in between various moments the new film. Obviously these moments are meant to tribute what the original movies had to offer and, considering this film is the swan song for Stallone’s character, it’s certainly appropriate. Not only that, but we get a few more quick shots of what seems to be multiple action sequences throughout Rambo’s final adventure. The trailer ultimately ends with Rambo about to kill someone with his iconic knife, spliced with footage of him making the same motions in the original First Blood.
Last Blood, from the looks for it, seems to be a fitting conclusion to the Rambo series. It appears to be taking notes from films like Logan, giving a proper end to a longtime character while also being as violent as the R-rating can go. It’s only a matter of time for Rambo fans to witness Stallone’s last hurrah as John Rambo.
Rambo: Last Blood is set for release on September 20th 2019. Watch the Full trailer below:
