Superman and Batman are not the only heroes to get animated features films this time around, because the Amazon heroine Wonder Woman will be starring in her own animated movie. The film is titled Wonder Woman: Bloodlines and will offer a retelling of Wonder Woman’s origin story, much like the 2009 animated movie starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion.
DC has already revealed several promotional images and an official synopsis for the film: When Amazon princess Diana of Themyscira chooses to save fighter pilot Steve Trevor, it’s a choice that will change her world and ours. Fulfilling the role of both ambassador as well as protector, Diana earns the name Wonder Woman from the gracious people of Earth. But her heart is as strong as her will as she is determined to help a troubled and embittered young girl whom has fallen in with a deadly organization known only as Villainy, Inc! Get ready for an exciting adventure packed with brutal battles, myth and wonder!
The cast list for Wonder Woman: Bloodlines has also been announced. Wonder Woman will be voiced by Rosario Dawson, thereby reprising her role from previous DC animated films, while while Steve Trevor will be played by Jeffrey Donovan. The remaining voice cast includes Marie Avgeropoulos, Kimberly Brooks, Michael Dorn, Ray Chase, Mozhan Marno, Adrienne Moore, Cree Summer, Courtenay Taylor, Nia Vardalos, and Constance Zimmer.
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines will be released later this year.
