The Russo brothers have impressively been able to keep Avengers 4 details under tight secrecy for almost half a year now. The launch of the first trailer and name of the film have only just been released, two things fans have been clamoring to see. Despite fans hoping that the release of the trailer would provide some answers to the abundant amount of questions stemming from the end of Avengers Infinity War, the release of the trailer and the announcement of the title has instead created many more questions than answers. The trailer was also presented in a much darker in tone than past films and provided a small snippet of how the famed heroes are coping with the enormous loss of their comrades.
In the aftermath of the trailer reveal, Screen Rant just revealed that there is a new logo for the film that was posted by the Avengers social media accounts. The logo consists of colors strikingly similar to those of Thanos in Infinity War. The background is completely black with the famous Avengers text colored purple like Thanos’s skin, with the outline of the text consisting of a gold color similar to his battle armor and infinity gauntlet. This has sent the fan base into a spur of activity trying to decipher how it will play into the next film.
With the last Avengers film being centered around Thanos and successfully developing his motivations and allowing him to be simultaneously menacing and sympathetic, one has to wonder what the coloring of the title card means for the upcoming film. The title card seems to indicate just how isolated Thanos is after the snap, as he is transported to a sort of solitary heaven. The fact that this location was never really expanded upon with hints of it in the trailer could be what the logo is representing. But again this is all speculation; the logo could simply just be a reference to the individual that started it all and the heroes who hope to end it.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
