According to an exclusive by Deadline, Idiana Menzel, the actress best known for her roles in both Disney‘s Frozen and the 1996 Broadway hit RENT, is the most recent actor to be added to the cast of A24‘s Uncut Gems.

The film, directed by the Safdie Brothers, follows a gambling-addicted jewelry store owner (Adam Sandler) who struggles with maintaining two relationships and growing debt. Menzel is set to play Sandler’s wife in the New York City Diamond District-based film.

Although casting is still ongoing, other names we know to be in the cast include Eric Bogosian, Lakeith Stanfield, and Judd Hirsch.

While A24 will maintain U.S. rights to the film, Netflix, as it was recently announced, will maintain international rights for the film.

Menzel can also be recognized for her Tony-winning performance in the Broadway smash Wicked as she originated the role of Elphaba.
