According to Hollywood Reporter, the casting team of Captain Marvel, the first female-led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has just revealed its latest actor added to the movie: DeWanda Wise (Shots Fired, She’s Gotta Have It). While the name and description of her character remains unspecified, it seems that she will performing as a part of the supporting cast of the Brie Larson-starring (Room) film.
Though the Carol Danvers-centered movie has been on the radar for many years now, with fans requesting it along with the long-rumored (but never actually created and most likely forever unmade) possible Black Widow flick, there remains plenty of mystery surrounding it, with mystique extending from its plot to its characters to its actors, which as of now only has five known members. Wise is the second female cast member to be confirmed for the movie, which will also feature iconic franchise fixture Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight), as well as new players who will be portrayed by Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One) and Jude Law (Spy).
Right now, the movie is still in the pre-production stage. Sadly for fans of Wise, there’s still over a year left until Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019!
