The talented Star Wars: Episode VIII actor, Oscar Isaac is considering voicing another iconic character: the father Gomez from the cult hit, The Addams Family. MGM studios will be bringing back the characters after nearly a three decade hiatus. This time, they will appear in an animated film. The characters were born in comics by Charles Addams, from whom they seem to have gotten their name. Isaac will join the ranks of Raul Julia and John Astin, who both also acted as Gomez. Conrad Vernon will direct the project. He seems to be a great choice, as Isaac has done well in the realms of horrifying situations (Ex Machina and the upcoming movie Annihilation), drama (A Most Violent Year), and humor (considering his great comedic timing in the Star Wars series). The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.
The animated film is the third of the announced MGM productions, which will distributing their projects alongside Annapurna films, the first of which can be seen starting March 2nd. It’s Eli Roth’s take on Death Wish, which first hit the screens in 1974 in its original form.
So far, The Addams Family is scheduled to be released Oct 11, 2019.
