Jennifer Lawrence has officially reunited with her Hunger Games franchise director Francis Lawrence for what looks like an even more intense thrill ride. The actress stars in Red Sparrow, a thriller centering on a prima ballerina named Dominika Egorova who is recruited to a Russian intelligence team and trained at the “Sparrow School,” where she is taught to use her body to seduce and betray her targets. Her first mission involves the targeting of an American CIA agent, which threatens to unbalance the security of both nations.
The film boasts an incredible top-bill, including actors Joel Edgerton, Mary Louise-Parker, Charlotte Rampling, Matthias Schoenaerts, Jeremy Irons, and Ciaran Hinds. Justin Haythe (A Cure for Wellness, Revolutionary Road) adapted the screenplay from the Jason Matthews novel.
Red Sparrow will hit theaters early next spring on March 2, 2018. Check out the trailer below, which features a stoic Lawrence diving deep into a world of seduction, action, and espionage.
