In the works, seemingly, for a few months now, The Hollywood Reporter made official that actress Elizabeth Olsen will join the road trip drama Kodachrome. She joins an ensemble cast that includes Ed Harris, Jason Sudeikis, Bruce Greenwood, Dennis Haysbert and Wendy Crewson. Mark Raso directs from a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper – Tropper recently adapted his own novel – This Is Where I Leave You – for the screen in a dramedy that starred Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Rose Byrne.
Kodachrome, which starts production in Toronto this coming weekend, tells the story of a road trip headed by a recording label boss who traversing the United States to fulfill the dying wish of his father. That wish entails developing a roll of Kodachrome film – the hitch is that there’s only one shop in the country that still does so.
Olsen recently appeared in the blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, reprising her role of Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. She also co-starred in the bio I Saw the Light opposite fellow Marvel alum Tom Hiddelston. She recently wrapped the thriller Wind River opposite another yet another Marvel co-hort Jeremy Renner – that film marks the directorial debut of Taylor Sherdian, screenwriter of the Oscar nominated Sicario and current acclaimed thriller Hell or High Water. Olsen also has the comedy Ingrid Goes West opposite Parks and Recreation alum Aubrey Plaza and the drama Light on Broken Glass forthcoming.
