Warner Bros. (and actress Gal Gadot) grabbed some early attention, a day prior to the big Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con, by showcasing a first look at the very first Wonder Woman one-sheet. A powerful and striking image of Gadot in silhouette with sword in hand, Wonder Woman extols “Power. Grace. Wisdom. Wonder.”
Certainly among fans, the upcoming film is generating some considerable goodwill, even considering the tepid response thus far to the DC Cinematic Universe – Gadot’s small role in last spring’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was considered a highlight to many critics and moviegoers – the role marked the cinematic debut for comic mainstay. More importantly, the upcoming Wonder Woman will mark the first feature headlined by Wonder Woman as the film, due on June 2, 2017, will open coinciding with the character’s 75th anniversary.
Patty Jenkins (Monster) directed the film which also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen.
