A new trailer has been released by Universal and Legendary Pictures for their upcoming fantasy film Warcraft. There have been a few enticing TV spots and trailers for the blockbuster already, but as the summer approaches we are sure to see more footage like this quite frequently. The new trailer shows off the orc civilization that hopes to find a new home but comes across a human-settled land, which causes the two sides to break out into war.
Each civilization has its own heroes and villains in the conflict, but once the two sides hit the battlefield, it’s just an epic clash of warriors. While previous footage has been praised for its use of motion-capture technology and vibrant designs, one of the more interesting aspects is how director Duncan Jones isn’t washing out or muting the nerdy elements of the fantasy realm. And whether that style appeals to everyone or not, the film isn’t holding back in bringing it all to life. That means there will no doubt be plenty of fierce action and war, all of which looks spectacular.
Along with its stunning visuals, Warcraft also sports an all-star cast that includes Travis Fimmel (Vikings), Dominic Cooper (Dracula Untold), Ben Foster (Lone Survivor), Paula Patton (2 Guns), and Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four). So the video game adaptation should prove to be a refreshing breather amidst the jam-packed summer of sequels, reboots, and remakes that audiences are getting this year.
Warcraft hits theaters on June 10, 2016.
