It was only a matter of time. On the eve of the release of the final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we get another treat in the form of the official poster, and it’s filled with clues.
As you can see above, most of the characters we’ve seen already are featured – primarily Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), BB-8, P0e Dameron (Oscar Issac) and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). The only newcomers are original series mainstay Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), a new unknown character to the left of R2-D2 (possibly Lupita Nyong’o) and, what that, a new Death Star?
We won’t get into the rumors about possible plot details (and spoilers), but the sphere at the top looks a lot like a new and improved Death Star. In the poster, we also get our first look at Carrie Fischer as Princess Leia, who up to this point had been kept under wraps. She seems to not be missing a beat with the new ostentatious hairdo that calls back the original double-bun in the first Star Wars.
Sadly, we still haven’t had our first sighting of Luke Skywalker. It looks like producers will keep him as a surprise for movie viewers. We’re most likely at the end of the release of details for the film, being so close to the release date, but the countdown stands at exactly two months, so we won’t have to wait much longer.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in theaters on December 18.
