The second official trailer for the Weinstein Company’s Burnt has been released. In it, Bradley Cooper (Aloha) plays Adam Jones, a driven chef whose career was derailed due to his antics and drug habit. The first trailer focused heavily on Adam’s backstory, hinting at his quick success and rise within the culinary world, and setting up his motivation to recapture his position. This trailer, however, delves more into Adam’s relationships with his peers and fellow workers, highlighting more of the supporting cast and their history with the talented chef.

The trailer highlights more moments between Cooper and the supporting cast, which includes Omar Sy (Jurassic World), Daniel Bruhl (A Most Wanted Man), Alicia Vikander (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.), Lily James (Cinderella), Uma Thurman (Nymphomaniac: Vol. 1), Sienna Miller (American Sniper), and Emma Thomspon (A Walk in the Woods). Cooper’s character appears to have burned many bridges, and we’re given glimpses of his attempts to try and mend broken relationships, as well as form new ones. There’s even a potential love interest in Sienna Miller’s character – whom also played Cooper’s wife in 2014’s American Sniper.
Burnt will not serve as the first time Cooper has played a troubled, unstable superstar chef. Readers may recall Cooper had a short-lived stint as a bad boy chef in 2005’s television program, Kitchen Confidential. The show only lasted one season and became largely forgotten, although it was based off the book and exploits of well known chef and personality Anthony Bourdain, with Cooper playing an on-screen version of him. Cooper’s character in Burnt similarly seems to draw many parallels to Bourdain.
Burnt is directed by John Wells (August: Osage County) with a script by Steven Knight (Pawn Sacrifice). The film is scheduled for release on October 23rd.
