CBS Films has acquired the action-thriller Comancheria for US distribution. The movie, starring Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Jeff Bridges, is a fresh take on Robin Hood set in West Texas that follows two brothers on a crime spree and the officer set with the task of catching them.
Chris Pine (Into the Woods) and Ben Foster (Lone Survivor) star as two brothers, one a divorced father and one an ex-con, who, in an effort to save their West Texas family farm, go on a bank robbing spree. Jeff Bridges (The Giver) stars as the West Texas Ranger tasked with bringing them to justice.
The movie is helmed by Scottish director David Mackenzie and penned by Taylor Sheridan. The movie was produced through Film 44, LBI, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, and Oddlot Entertainment. Comancheria is currently in pre-production and a release date has not been set yet.
The stars of the movie have also been busy with other projects. Chris Pine will be heading into production for Star Trek 3 as Captain Kirk. Ben Foster is currently filming Inferno and just finished filming on Warcraft, the fantasy movie based on the popular World of Warcraft video game. Jeff Bridges just finished work on The Little Prince and is also heading into The Emperor’s Children, currently in pre-production.
