Josh Duhamel (Safe Haven) and Alice Eve (Star Trek: Into Darkness) have joined the already impressive ensemble cast of the legal thriller Beyond Deceit. The film is the directorial debut for The Grudge screenwriter Shintaro Shimosawa, who rewrote a script originally written by Simon Boyes (Hangman) and first-timer Adam Mason.
Al Pacino (The Godfather), Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs), and Glen Powell (The Expendables 3) also star in the movie that centers on a young ambitious lawyer (Duhamel) who takes on a ruthless executive of a pharmaceutical company. His ambitions get the better of him when he’s framed for a murder. Eve will play his wife.
Duhamel is replacing Dan Stevens (TV’s Downton Abbey), who had to leave the movie after it conflicted with the filming of the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Duhamel is currently on the other side of the law as a cop on CBS’s Battle Creek. Eve recently shot the thriller Criminal with Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Costner, and Wonder Woman-to-be Gal Gadot. She is set to return to the Star Trek franchise in Star Trek 3.
