Marvel Studios is gearing up for the release of Guardians of the Galaxy with two new featurettes starring Zoe Saldana(Avatar) and Chris Pratt (TV’s Parks and Recreation). These clips of James Gunn’s movie reveal more intergalactic footage of Saldana’s portrayal of Gamora and Pratt’s explanation of the universe in which the story takes place.
As previously mentioned by mxdwn Movies, the Guardians cast also includes pro wrestler Dave Bautista (Riddick), and the voices of Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious 6) and Bradley Cooper (American Hustle). An American pilot and the only human in the film, Peter Quill (Pratt), is forced to team up with misfit guardians in the cosmos, after stealing a powerful orb from the villainous Ronan (Lee Pace). The green-skinned Gamora is one of many renegade anti-heroes, including Drax the Destroyer (Bautista), a humanoid tree, Groot (Diesel), and his raccoon sidekick (Cooper).
The Guardians of the Galaxy featurette below provides commentary from the stealth assassin, Gamora. In the clip Saldana explains that although the species are mainly after revenge and money, “deep down the guardians want to belong to a family.”
In another featurette, below, Pratt examines his character, Peter. Over the course of the film Peter comes to realize, “there’s more to life than just taking exactly what you want.”
Will these guardians save the universe? Go see for yourself, when Guardians of the Galaxy zooms into theaters August 1st.
