Jacob Chase (Insidious: Out of The Further) is set to direct Blumhouse Atomic Monster film, Sleepover. Recently, Chase directed the sixth entry in the Insidious series, Insidious: Out of the Further. The movie grossed $25 million domestically on opening weekend. The movie he is set to direct is based after a short he worked on with Bryce McGuire called Night Swim. Nothing else about the movie has been confirmed but the movie is supposed to be a “quintessential sleepover nightmare” according to  The Hollywood Reporter.

Blumhouse Atomic Monster is a collaborative production team of Jason Blum’s Blumhouse and James Wan’s Atomic Monster. Chase told The Hollywood Reporter how he got the attention of the two, explaining,

Jason really loved Come Play, and my first Zoom meeting with him was right after it came out. We specifically talked about my love of horror and haunted houses from my history of making haunted houses as live attractions. Jason had done some of that as well, and we talked about a very specific movie idea that involved a new take on a haunted house. We ended up developing that, and then we developed two or three more films over the years. A couple of them almost got made.

Sleepover will be released into theaters on October 8th, 2027.
