Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead Burn is coming to home screens with digital release on August 4th. The movie can be pre-ordered on Amazon and is listed at 24.99, along with a bundle, discounted at 24.99 that includes Evil Dead Rise. A steelbook version has already been listed on Walmart’s website for 37.96 and a release date of April of next year.
Evil Dead Burn is the sixth film in the Evil Dead Franchise and stars Souheila Yacoub (Dune: Part Two) as Alice, a girl who is trying to reconcile with her in-laws after her husband passed away in a car crash. Like the other movies, the Book of the Dead (Necronomicon) ends up in the presence of the family, and when read, turns the family into possessed beings, referred to as ‘deadites’ in the franchise.
In an interview with The Aureview, Yacoub spoke on her character,
I tried to play the character who’s haunted by her husband, but I really didn’t want it to be that easy. Like a black-and-white situation. I wanted to find a way to play Alice as someone who’s in love with this guy, that it’s possible and it makes sense. That you’re not asking, ‘Why is she dating that man?’ Before the demons and the deadites, I had to deal with a personal, human (issue) that happens in the world.
