The most eventful day of Comic-Con as of this week! 

On July 27th, mxdwn started off at 10 am in the Batman: Knightfall panel with moderator Brandin Davis and panelists Jeremy Adams, Jim Krieg, Rick Morales, and Michael Mando. As the moderator asks why it took so long to make Batman: Knightfall, Krieg stated that it is a big story and it is generational. 

During the first clip that was shown, an attack scene featuring different men conspiring against each other, when Azrael finds them and begins to attack them one by one, even cutting a car in half and torching it, he blows one of the guys off. As Azrael grabs the last man standing, Batman saves him by wrapping a rope around Azrael’s arm. The man runs away to escape harm but ends up getting run over by a bus. Batman and Azrael have one last encounter before Azrael’s alter ego, Jean Paul Valley, realizes the chaos he caused and begs for help. 

In clip two, a younger version of Baine offers his mother a piece of bread as they are both in a prison cell with a bunk bed on one corner and a toilet on the other. Baine’s mother snaps at him for showing mercy towards her because she knows she is about to die, but she is coming to terms with that. However, she tells Baine that he has a choice to fend for himself. 

In the third clip, Batman calls Dr. Shondra Kinsolving in the car as it’s pouring rain while he has marks all over his body. When she answers his phone call, he remains silent and only answers after she says, “Bruce, I know it’s you.” He continues to follow the bat signal, even after Shondra urges him to continue talking with her. 

The final clip was between Bane and Robin as Robin is strapped with rope tied around his arms. As Bane reflects on what his mother taught him about not showing mercy and allowing it to influence him in his adult life, Robin manages to break free from the rope with the blade that he ends up stabbing Bane with. 

From 11:15 a.mx to 12:15 p.m., mxdwn viewed various work from ACME Filmworks, with moderator Ron Diamond including work from Aleksandra Korejwo, Bill Plympton, Gianluigi Toccafondo, Wendy Tilby, Amanda Forbis, and others. Diamond showcased different advertisements from Levi’s, United Airlines, Michal Socha, Suntory Water, EarthLink, Oregon Lottery, Taco Bell, and more. Diamond expressed how AI will never replace the ideas and creativity of humankind. 

The Star Trek panel started at 12:30 and lasted until 1:45 p.m. Both Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and Star Trek: Strange New World had their own panels and included news of a new character, a season renewal, and a release update for Star Trek: Scouts, which could be read further here. 

The Apple TV panel began at 2 p.m. and lasted until 4 p.m. with moderator Josh Horowitz. Six panels for media such as the action film Matchbox, the sci-fi television series Dark Matter, the sci-fi television show Neuromancer, the comedy horror series Widow’s Bay, the drama series Silo, and the upcoming action-adventure film May Day. 

The Marvel panel started at 5:30 p.m. and lasted until 6:30 p.m. as guests were given Dr. Doom masks and capes. Guests were given exclusive clips and news, which can be read further here.
