Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that plans are underway to introduce Miles Morales into the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following the conclusion of Sony Pictures’ animated Spider-Verse trilogy.

Speaking with media outlet Watching Hollywood, Feige explained that introducing a live-action iteration of the character remains a primary objective for the franchise once Sony completes its current animated narrative arc. The animated storyline is scheduled to conclude with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is slated for theatrical release on June 18, 2027.

Feige noted that Marvel Studios and Sony producer Amy Pascal are actively mapping out long-term narrative arcs for the superhero property, having held extensive creative discussions regarding the next several Spider-Man feature releases. Current Spider-Man star Tom Holland has also voiced strong personal support for introducing Miles into the live-action timeline alongside Peter Parker.

Marvel Studios previously embedded subtle nods to the character within existing MCU continuity. Donald Glover made an appearance as Miles’ uncle, Aaron Davis, in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Additionally, in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jamie Foxx’s character Electro made a dialogue reference alluding to the existence of a Black Spider-Man within the multiverse.

Created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli in 2011, Miles Morales made his comic book debut before rising to global prominence as the central protagonist of Sony’s Oscar-winning animated franchise, voiced by actor Shameik Moore.

While Marvel Studios has not officially attached a writer, director, or premiere date to a live-action Miles Morales project, the live-action franchise will first continue with Tom Holland returning in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, arriving in theaters on July 31, 2026.
