During a press tour for the new Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland (Spider-Man: No Way Home) speaks on the future of Miles Morales in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Hobby Consolas, Holland says, “I think at this point in time we’re being opened minded about what the future looks like. I know that I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe. However that works out, you know we got a lot of work to do to bring that to life.”
However, this was not the first time Miles Morales has been a topic of discussion for for a live-action adaptation. In an interview with The Playlist, the director of Punisher: One Last Kill, Reinaldo Marcus Green (King Richard), says,” The long play is to get back into Marvel. Obviously, if Spider-Man, Spider-Verse live-action Miles Morales comes along, I know of a half Black, half Puerto Rican Mets fan from New York that would be right for that, so we’ll see.”
The character of Miles Morales was created in 2011 and had his first film debut in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). His last appearance, as of now, in the sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). The third movie is still in development, with a release date in 2027.
