Lionsgate’s Michael is getting close to a box office goal. The Michael Jackson movie is one of the studio’s hits and still doing well in theaters worldwide.

The film is selling plenty of tickets and more people internationally are watching it. Michael is still within striking distance of reaching a billion, which would mark the first movie to earn $1 billion for Lionsgate.

With people clearly still very interested in Michael Jackson’s story, it is likely that a sequel, which has already been partially filmed, will arrive in the near future.
