A new Instagram reel posted by Mexican actor Jesse John Garcia  (Flamin’ Hot, Hour of Blood) showcases the action behind the action-fantasy film The Odyssey. The film will be released on July 17, 2026 and will be produced by Universal Pictures.

The film stars Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting, The Martian), Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada, Love & Other Drugs), Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Batman), Tom Holland (Spiderman: No Way Home, Uncharted), Zendaya (Euphoria, Shake It Up), John Leguizamo (Encanto, Ice Age), Charlize Theron (Apex, Mad Man: Fury Road), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Punisher), Mia Goth (Pearl, Frankenstein) and Elliot Page (The Umbrella Academy, Juno). The film is directed by Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight). The trailer was released Monday Night by Universal Pictures on Youtube. The film is an adaptation to the classic epic poem written by the Greek poet Homer.

The trailer centers around Odysseus in various action war sequences showing the war to the present day where Odysseus desires to return home. Pattinson’s character Antinous questions Odysseus’s son Telemachus, played by Holland, if his father will come back. Antinous also pursues Penelope played by Hathaway in order to become king to which she states “Ithaca’s king is coming back.” Watch the trailer below:
