Per Deadline, Elizabeth Olsen has been tapped to star alongside Julia Roberts in the Warner Bros thriller Panic Carefully. Sam Esmail is directing and writing the script for the film. Warner Bros. was in a bidding war for the feature in February and won. Esmail is producing along with Chad Hamilton, Roberts, Scott Stuber, Marisa Yeres Gill, and Lisa Gillan.

Panic Carefully is said to be a paranoid thriller drawing from Silence of the Lambs and Esmail’s critically acclaimed show Mr. Robot. The film’s true nature has yet to be revealed. 

Esmail’s latest project was the Netflix movie Leave the World Behind, which also starred Roberts. Recently, Esmail has been announced to be a part of A24’s Famous starring Zac Efron and Phoebe Dynevor directed by Jody Hill.

Olsen’s latest work includes Netflix’s His Three Daughters along with Carrie Coon and Natasha Lyonne. In September, she starred in the sci-fi thriller The Assessment. She is also returning as Scarlet Witch in the new Disney+ animated series Marvel Zombies. Another upcoming film for her is A24 romantic comedy Eternity where she stars opposite Miles Teller and Callum Turner.
