Rian Johnson has officially wrapped up filming on Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story, the anticipated third installment of the Knives Out franchise. In a recent social media post, Johnson shared his excitement over the completion of the project, revealing that the shoot was both fast-paced and special. “Aaaand that’s a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man. Went so fast! Best crew, incredible cast, this was a really special shoot and I cannot wait to put it together,” Johnson posted on X.
The upcoming film once again stars Daniel Craig as the sharp-witted detective Benoit Blanc, a role that has become iconic since the release of the first Knives Out film in 2019. The star-studded cast for this new chapter includes Josh Brolin, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, Andrew Scott, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, and Thomas Haden Church.
Filming for Wake Up Dead Man began in June, with Johnson marking the occasion by posting, “And we’re off! Today is day 1 of shooting on the next Benoit Blanc mystery Wake Up Dead Man – see you on the other side.”
The film is expected to hit theaters in 2025, adding another thrilling mystery to the franchise. Fans are waiting to see how Johnson and his talented cast will continue the legacy of Knives Out, especially after its predecessor, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
