From January 19 to 21, IllumiNative will run its second annual Indigenous House at the Sundance Film Festival. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the gathering spot will feature talks from various indigenous creatives. 

Director Sydney Freeland (Navajo), whose latest project is Marvel’s Echo, an upcoming series to be featured on Disney+, will be part of the discussions. Writer, director, and producer Tazbah Chavez (Dinè/Nüümü/San Carlos Apache), known for Reservation Dogs, will also be included in these discussions. Filmmaker and activist Julian Brave NoiseCat (Canim Lake Band Tsq’escan/Lil’Wat Nation of Mount Currie) created the documentary Sugarcane, which delves into an Indian reservation school and its recurring abuse. NoiseCat will be there to discuss healing and justice in light of this brutal moment in North American history.
