Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its new sci-fi drama Spaceman, starring Adam Sandler and directed by Johan Renck (known for his Emmy-winning work on Chernobyl). The film is set to be released on the streaming service on March 1st, 2024. Check out the teaser trailer below!
Colby Day adapted the 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař for the film. The film follows Sandler’s character, an astronaut named Jakub, who is six months into a solo research mission headed towards the edge of the solar system. Jakub struggles with the realization that his marriage may no longer be intact upon his return to earth and is desperate to salvage the relationship with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan). On this journey, he receives the help of a mysterious creature named Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) that has been hiding in the recesses of his ship. Together they figure out what went wrong before time runs out.
The film also stars Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini. Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman, and Max Silva are all serving as producers. Director Renck, Ben Ormand, and Barry Bernardi are all serving as executive producers.
