Tom Holland’s third film as the beloved Marvel superhero could possibly be the most ambitious Spider-Man project ever. Empire Magazine has just revealed its October issue with Spider-Man and several villains on the cover.
The list of villains and cast members just keeps on growing as we get closer to the release date for No Way Home. It was already confirmed that Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock from the second Tobey Maguire Spiderman film was making a comeback thanks to the spectacular trailer Marvel released late last summer. The same trailer had also revealed that Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin would be back for more explosive mayhem. Jamie Foxx’s ionizing Electro from Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-man 2 is confirmed to return as well.
It is now confirmed that Rhys Ifan’s The Lizard from The Amazing Spider-man and Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman from Spiderman 3 will appear in No Way Home. There is plenty of social media buzz going around speculating if these are just too many villains for just one Spider-Man to handle, even with the help of the Sorcerer Supreme. Unconfirmed as of yet though, are the returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker’s incarnations from alternate universes.
As if five villains weren’t enough, there is a very real possibility Tom Hardy’s Venom might be thrown into the mix. For those who stayed until the after-credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Eddy Brock is magically transported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This week has given Spider-man fans some very exciting news. Plenty of villains have finally been confirmed which has given all the internet rumors even more momentum. All the answers will be given when Spider-Man No Way Home releases on December 17.
