One of the most successful filmmakers in history, the man behind The Dark Knight trilogy, The Prestige, Interstellar, and a slow hit during quarantine Tenet, Christopher Nolan is already in talks for his next film. The Academy Award nominee is meeting with multiple studios on a film about J. Robert Oppenheimer and the development of the atomic bomb in World War II.

Similar to Dunkirk, the story will focus on a seminal moment in WWII, it will focus on Oppenheimer’s role in developing the bomb, who is often referred to as the “father of the atomic bomb.”

Nolan’s last film Tenet received mixed yet mostly positive reviews, and despite suffering at the box office due to releasing in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic, they still made money for Warner Bros. “The film still grossed $363 million, the biggest global number since the pandemic erupted outside F9, Godzilla Vs. Kong and Black Widow,” as reported by Deadline.

Cillian Murphy is rumored to be involved. Star of hit BBC show Peaky Blinders, as well as numerous Nolan films, including the entire Batman trilogy, Inception, and Dunkirk, it’s clear that any Nolan project moving forward will have at least one big name.
