Netflix’s Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco-led vampire flick Day Shift adds a few more names to its growing cast list, including Snoop Dogg and Scott Adkins (Dead Reckoning). Also hopping onboard are Meagan Good (Monster Hunter), Karla Souza (How to Get Away With Murder, Nosotoros los Nobles), Eric Lange and Zion Broadnax, according to Deadline.
They join a pre-existing cast of Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society), Oliver Masucci (The Girlfriend Experience), Steve Howey (Shameless) and C.S. Lee (Dexter). Day Shift marks the directorial debut of J.J. Perry, who has worked as a stunt coordinator and second-unit director for successful franchise John Wick and The Fate of the Furious.
Day Shift’s screenplay was written by Tyler Tice and revised by Shay Hattan after Tice’s work was discovered at a screenplay competition. It tells the story of a blue-collar worker, played by Foxx, who’s trying to provide the best life he can for his young daughter. By day, he cleans pools in the San Fernando Valley, but by night, he goes to work on his real source of income– vampire hunting.
Producing the Netflix thriller is 87Eleven Entertainment’s Chad Stahelski and Jason Spitz, and Impossible Dream Entertainment’s Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick. Executive producers are Foxx, Datari Turner and Peter Baxter.
