Zootopia 2 has reached a significant new milestone at the box office.
To date, the film has grossed $1.7 billion. With this total, the film is currently the highest-grossing American animated film of all time. It isn’t the highest-grossing animated film overall, falling behind the current record holder: the Chinese animated film Ne Zha 2, which earned $2.2 billion worldwide last year.
This total also puts the film into the top ten highest-grossing films of all time globally. It is currently at number 9, behind Inside Out 2, the previous record holder for the highest-grossing American animated film of all time. It surpasses films that were previously in the Top 10 all-time, including Jurassic World (2015), The Lion King (2019), and Frozen II (2019).
Here’s the current top ten:
- Avatar (2009) – $2.924 billion
- Avengers: Endgame (2019)– 2.799 billion
- Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) – 2.334 billion
- Titanic (1997) – 2.265 billion
- Ne Zha 2 (2025) – 2.26 billion
- Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015) – $2.071 billion
- Avengers: Infinity War (2018) – $2.052 billion
- Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) – $1.921 billion
- Zootopia 2 (2025) – $1.703 billion
- Inside Out 2 (2024) – $1.699 billion
It must also be noted that Zootopia 2 is still in theaters, and its box office run hasn’t ended. So, the film still has a chance of rising up the Top Ten ranking. Only time will tell if this happens.
For now, Zootopia 2 is still showing in theaters.
