If you have been paying attention to the comic book world or even social media in general, The Snyder Cut’s long road to now has been filled with tragedy, studio interference, possible sexism and racism, a Twitterstorm of support, a massive company structuring, Vero, a couple fan events, and now the trailer to the almost mythological Snyder Cut. And the difference between this and the theatrical cut is apparent from the very first frame with a completed look of Darkseid, who was cut in the theatrical version.
The differences are apparent; the color grading is more in line with Zack Snyder’s tone and vision, the aspect ratio is 4:3, and the vfx actually look competent. And among the new and shocking footage is the following: a new look at Steppenwolf in all his spiky glory, Dasaad in all his deformed glory, the death of Silas Stone, Victor crying, Flash going through the Speed Force, some footage of the war of the old gods, Victor before he was Cyborg, Barry saving Iris from a car accident, more footage from the Knightmare World, and so much more.
But among the trailer came more information about how it is going to be released. The Snyder Cut will release on HBOMax in 2021, it will release in four 1-hour episodes over the course of four weeks, and then will be combined into a full length movie that can be watched in one sitting. And surprisingly enough, Zack Snyder did announce that there will be other means of distribution. Whether this means it is physical like a Blu-Ray or 4KUHD, or digital like iTunes and Google Store.
But for now, Snyder Fans and Justice League Fans will be full with the new trailer and information given to us. Justice League: The Snyder Cut will release in 2021.
