Shazam! Actor Zachary Levi used his social media platforms to state actor Dwayne Johnson is not responsible for the canceling of the original post-credits scene for Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Levi clarified there is no one to blame for the changes.
The clarification came after Levi seemingly called out the Black Adam actor about the scene on Tuesday through social media. The post mentioned a story from The Wrap where it was reported that Johnson blocked Justice Society characters from being part of Fury of The Gods and the chance of Levi having a cameo in Black Adam. Levi wrote in his Instagram story, “The truth shall set you free.”
In the original post-credit scene planned for the Shazam! sequel Justice Society of America members would have invited Shazam to join them. However, the scene could not be filmed. According to director David F. Sandberg the scene: “fell apart three days before we were going to roll cameras.”
Levi stated in the post the following:
“I may or may not have, you know, reposted something in my Stories about a story that I had nothing to do with that had reported on, then I got flack about it because people were saying ‘Oh, What are you doing? You’re trying to blame this guy because your movie’s not doing well. Like you’re trying to blame us. Listen, I haven’t blamed anybody. There’s not one single person that I have blamed for anything about the way that our movie has performed.”
“The reason I decided to share that was not because I wanna blame anybody for anything,” he continued. “It’s because I do not want to be blamed for things that are not on me. And as a leader, and I believe, a protector of my family, my Shazam-ily and everyone who worked so hard on these movies … we have been doing everything we can to fight for you, the fans.”
The actor made his reflections in an Instagram live where he also commented that he had his ideas about why the sequel is not doing well with moviegoers and reviews, insisting that no one is to blame for it.
