Zac Efron Set to Star in ‘Three Men and a Baby’ for Disney+

Zac Efron is on his way to become father. Well, at least, on screen. Efron is on board to star in upcoming Disney movie Three Men and Baby, a remake of the 1987 comedy.

The remake will head to the Disney+ platform. Gordon Gray, best known for his inspirational sports dramas like The Rookie and the most recent one The Way Back starring Ben Affleck, is producing. Will Reichel wrote the script for the remake. However, plot details have not been revealed to the public yet. A director is also not yet to be attached to the project.

In the 1987 version, Three Men featured Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson, all stars of the 80s, as New York bachelors who find themselves caring, and subsequently, falling for, an infant, while also blocking threats from drug dealers directed towards the innocent child. Directed by Leonard Nimoy, the movie was a major hit, becoming the first live-action Disney film to gross over $100 million mark domestically. The movie was followed by the next installment Three Men and a Little Lady in 1990 that reunited the trio cast, but not Nimoy.

This will mark Efron’s first return to Disney after his breakout roles in the High School Musical movies back in the early 2000s. After that series skyrocketed his fame, he went on to work on various movies, most notably the indie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, in which he portrayed serial killer Ted Bundy, The Greatest Showman alongside Hugh Jackman and Zendaya, and 2017 comedy Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson. Currently, he is seen in Netflix’s documentary series about global sustainability Down to Earth, which he also executive produced via his Ninjas Runnin Wild Productions.
