‘You’ Star Jenna Ortega To Lead High School Drama ‘The Fallout’

Rising actress Jenna Ortega has been reportedly set to lead the cast of the upcoming high school drama The Falloutwith actress Megan Park writing and directing for Clear Horizon.

Other film roles for Ortega include Yes Day, which also will star Jennifer Garner and The Babysitter 2, opposite Bella Thorne. Ortega is best known for her role as Ellie in the popular Netflix thriller series You and Young Jane in the CW show Jane The Virgin, also currently available on Netflix. Her other credited roles include the Disney Channel series Elena of Avalor and Stuck in the Middle. 

In The Fallout, the story revolves around a high schooler named Vada who navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy, with relationships with her family, friends and view on the world forever changed. Though The Fallout will be Park’s feature directorial debut, she is no stranger to filmmaking, having won the Grand Jury Prize at the Austin Film Festival for her debut short and took home an emerging directors award at Cannes last year. She recently adapted No Baggage for New Line/Warner Brothers with Shailene Woodley attached to star.

Other casting and production details for The Fallout have not been revealed, but there is much to be anticipated. Clear Horizon producer David Brown reported that “with The Fallout we continue to grow our company and add to the outstanding slate for Clear Horizon. We are thrilled to be working with Park’s powerful project, and bringing it to audiences in markets globally.”

Jessi Kim: Jessi is currently a first-year student at Wellesley College, majoring in Media Arts and Sciences and Cinema and Media Studies. Her experiences and interests in theatre, designing, film and media theories, and video production inspire her to become involved in the entertainment industry in the future. She has worked as a camp counselor, swim instructor, college campus coordinator, and actor. She currently resides near Boston, MA.
