Blue Finch Films, self-described as “a dynamic company specializing in the release of feature films and documentaries, both in the UK/Ireland market and internationally,” has boarded the international sales (excluding North America) for the new documentary You Can Call Me Bill.
The documentary follows William Shatner’s life to show who he is, rather than only the characters he portrays. Written and directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, You Can Call Me Bill first premiered at 2023’s SXSW.
Variety describes this film as “the first and only feature-length documentary dedicated to Shatner’s life, career, and philosophy… it delves into his most fervent passions, hopes, and concerns through the thematic distillation of his most recent autobiographical songs and a deep dive into the farthest reaches of his filmography.”
Shatner has spent an unbelievable amount of time working to entertain audiences. His iconic work in various Star Trek films and series has made him a recognizable force in households and among fans everywhere. The documentary sought to allow audiences to “meet” the man behind the character of James T. Kirk more than ever before.
Blue Finch Films will soon be distributing You Can Call Me Bill internationally, except in North America.
