Acclaimed director Steven Spielberg has been confirmed to release an upcoming film about aliens and UFOs on May 15, 2026. Spielberg is known for his previous alien movies, such as ET: The Extra Terrestrial and Close Encounters of The Third Kind. Science fiction fans will be excited to see Steven Spielberg returning back to his sci-fi roots.

The latest development in the production of the untitled alien movie is the apparent signing of Wyatt Russell to the cast. Russell is known for his recent work in the MCU exclusively in, What If…, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Russell’s latest MCU project is Thunderbolts, which is set to premiere May 2. 2025.

Since Spielberg currently is not working on any other projects, fans can hope that he will dedicate significant time to his upcoming movie. Other actors who have reportedly been cast include Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and Josh O’Connor. Currently, there is no known news about the roles that any of these actors will play in the upcoming film.

Screenwriter David Koepp, known for helming the scripts of both War of The Worlds and Jurassic Park, is also on board for the film. Koepp also has written the script for the upcoming film, Jurassic Park: Rebirth, set to be released on July 2, 2025.
