It’s been a while since we’ve had any Marvel news after the deluge of announcements last month, so fans will be thrilled to hear the rumors of Vin Diesel’s possible role in another upcoming movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are gaining ground. In a photo released on Vin Diesel’s Facebook page, he seems to be embracing the rumors that he’s up for a role in the upcoming Inhumans movie.
This isn’t even the first sign we’ve seen that Diesel will be signing up for moreMarvel duty. After finding huge success with his voice role as Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, Diesel hinted back in August that he may be joining the cast of Inhumans – all before Marvel had even confirmed the movie was actually happening. On a caption for a picture posted on August 9, Diesel stated, “I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha.” The Inhumans comic book arc is rich and diverse, with characters stretching from every corner of the universe; you can read the summary of this arc and how it might play out in the MCU here.
Now with this newest photo and with production starting with a screenplay written by Joe Robert Cole (Amber Lake), it seems inevitable that Diesel will be Inhuman. His role as Groot was only a voice acting role after all, so there wouldn’t be the problem that fans of Chris Evans’ roles as Johnny Storm and as Steve Rogers found. The Inhumans arc was introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s television series Agents of SHIELD (second season), and the movie Inhumans is scheduled for release on November 2, 2018, so there is plenty of time for speculation on further casting.
